UEC was formed in 1954 and is still going as a non-profit dive
club. We do regular trips to Rottnest and nearby islands outside
Perth all year round (weather permitting). We dive from the
club's own vessel that comfortably takes 20 divers. A monthly
newsletter is published.
Non-divers are also welcome to join the club. We have a strong
social section for friends and family to enjoy.

The University of Western Australia University Underwater Club
has been operating for over 25 years and has steadly built up
its resources, with a stable membership at around 200-250.
The club owns an 8-meter dive boat, the TANTABIDDI, which can
hold 12 divers. We also own a dual cab tray back truck to tow
the boat. We maintain almost 30 sets of gear (BCD, regs, tank)
with about 20 extra tanks. Many of the regulators have dive
computers. All the equipment is monitored and serviced regularly.
And gear hire is so cheap, many members put off buying their
own.
The club dives locally at weekends with trips to other dive
locations in Western Australia such as Busselton, Albany, Esperance,
and Exmouth throughout the year.
The club meets socially every Thursday night in a local bar
just to hang out and meet other divers or people interested
in diving.

Our club began more than 30 years ago. Our school has trained
more than 30 instructors, and is still busy training new ones,
because only 15 (*,**,***CMAS) of them are still at the job
in our school for our 150 members. Our divers get lessons and
training once a week in the indoor pool of MOL (September -
June). We make weekly trips to the lake "Zilvermeer"
for diving and exercices, 6 months of the 12. We often organize
diving-trips to Zeeland (the Netherlands), quarries, the North
sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, and sometimes to dive-paradises
far away from home.

We are a group of divers from the Victoria, BC, Canada area
who get together dry once a month, and wet whenever we can.
Sometimes we learn something, sometimes we see something, sometimes
we plan something, we often eat something and we always talk.
We have a wide range of diving and other experience within the
club. Our members include newly certified open water divers,
advanced divers, dive masters, and commercial divers. There
are ex-dive shop managers, a dive charter operator,scientists
(an oceanographer, biologists, geomorphologist, computer), technicians
(optician, electronics), a Navy marine engineer and even a helicopter
pilot in the club. So we have a lot to learn from each other.
Obviously we try to go diving whenever we can. We also meet
at someone's house once a month to learn from each other, eat
munchies, talk and plan dives. We normally meet at 7 pm on the
first Tuesday of each month.
Wanting to contribute to the community and to the sport, we
have undertaken two projects.
The first project is surveying fish and invertebrate populations
in support of the Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF).
This is a fun and educational project applicable to all levels
of divers.
The second project is for the more advanced divers. We have
taken on the task of trying to protect the dwindling population
of cloud sponges in the Saanich Inlet. We hope to designate
one or more areas where the cloud sponges remain as marine protected
areas. In the process we have also volunteered to help the Marine
Ecology Station to conduct research on the cloud sponges.

Belper Sub Aqua Club was formed in 1973 and there are currently
32 members of mixed age and abilities.
The club currently has several qualified instructors, all of

We are not a training school and so are unable to give guarantees
as to the timescale of any training programs.

Diving takes place at locations around the British isles and
is usually arranged on weekends from March to October. "Have
a go" sessions can be arranged for individuals or small
groups. To have a go you need to be over 16 years of age (unless

The club was formed in 1990 with the majority of members coming
from the Washington area. Since that time the club has expanded
and we now have members from the Tyne Valley, Newcastle, Derwentside,
Chester-le -Street, Northumberland Sunderland and County Durham.
The club meets on Thursday evenings throughout the year, first
at the Edmund Campion School at Wrekenton in Gateshead. Here
we have the use of the private school pool from 7 till 9, where
initial training is undertaken, or club members can just turn
up to swim. Following the pool session, most of the members
retire to Springwell village hall, where there is a bar, rooms
available for theory lectures and training, and where most of
the weekends diving is discussed and planned.

The club meets THURSDAY nights between 20:00 and 23:00 hrs (local
time T) in its club house located in Nautholsvik, a scenic and
WWII historic location by the sea at the end of Runway 02, Reykjavik
Airport. The club has excellent facilities, including 15 CFM
electric and 5 CFM petrol compressor, as well as 4 meter Zodiac

International: the club is a combination of aqua falcons and
divequest. aqua falcons had a membership of over 1000. divequest
has an active membership of 50 and is growing. the function
of the club is to provide divers with a place to go and a way
to dive that place next to free. the cost of the equipment is
free to members. any one coming from out of country can have
two days of equipment free diving. it is not the interest of
the club to make money but to promote diving and try to do this
at a break even environment.
