Helnan Marina Center
This professional Diving Centre is operated by Marc Nys
and is situated at the Helnan Marina Hotel (Naama Bay) in the heart of Sharm el Sheikh. With a multilingual team
of Instructors and Dive Masters, certification is according to Barakuda (CMAS) and PADI standards.
Complementary bus transfer from all hotels in Sharm el Sheikh, Modern, comfortable diving wessels, small groups,
Housereef Diving in Grand Oasis, Trips to Dahab, Ras Mohammed, Thistlegrom, Tiran.
Equipment
The newly renovated Diving Centre was furnished out especially for the needs and requirements of the divers. To
be up to demands, we do have enough rental equipment at hand:
- 50 Jackets (BCDs) by Seemann
- 50 Regulators with Octopus, contents-gauge and inflator
- 100 Sets of Masks, Fins and Snorkels by Seemann
- 50 Wetsuits (5mm overall by Scubapro)
- 10 Diving Computers (Aladin Nitrox)
- 10 Underwater Torches
- 3 Underwater Cameras
For a smooth operation, we have 100 Alum-Tanks (DIN & INT valve) at 12L each, filled by two Bauer K 14 Compressors.
The fully geared workshop is for all guests in case of need as well as the selection of rental material well maintained
by the personnel of the centre.
Your Own Equipment
Private equipment is stored in boxes at the Centre and for the dives transported by our staff to the dive boats.
Excursions:
For our full day tours, there are spacious, for diving designed modern boats (ca 24 m Yachts) ready, which depart
from the Jetty in the Naama Bay. ( a minute from the centre). A free bus transfer is available from all Hotels,
guarantying an uncomplicated, smooth operation. The well-outfitted vessels have a big lounge, a toilette, sundeck
as well as a big pop deck for the divers. In the galley, the lunch buffet is prepared daily for you at LE 30, -
including soft drinks
Dive Sites
The day-trips to the different dive spots start, depending on the distance, at 08.30 h or 09.00 h. An exception
is the trip to the wreck "Thristlegorm", which leaves at 05.00 h.
Transfers from the Hotels will be arranged accordingly.
We are usually back in Sharm El Sheikh by 17.00 h or 17.30 h.
The local dive sites are rotationally visited, taking between 10 and 30 Minutes to reach.
To the renown places near Tiran Island taking up to 2 h and Ras Mohammed about 1 h to reach.
Once a week, there is an excursion to the "Thristlegorm" and a Coach tour to Dahab for shore dives at
the "Blue Hole" and "Canyon".
In total, there is a choice of 30 different dive spots to guarantee a variety of dives.
Security
On the diving vessels, there is oxygen as well as a first aid kit and a wireless aboard. A multilingual doctor
operates the deco-chamber, which lies opposite of the Travco boat jetty.
Diving Courses
To get a first hand impression into the underwater world, we offer intro-dives free of charge frequently every
week.
If one is interested to learn to dive, you can attend a professional dive course according to the international
standard of Barakuda (CMAS) or PADI. This in a four-day course in small groups of max. 6 people.
The sequences of the course are split into theory and practice (six dives) in a rotating change not to become boring.
After successful completion, the student will receive an international recognized certificate of (CMAS*) or PADI
(Open Water Diver).
If you would only like to have a glimpse into the underwater world of the Red Sea, we do offer introductory dives
of 15 to 20 minutes. In a depth of maximum 4 to 5 metres, you will feel as if you would be at an aquarium within
the wonders of the coral reefs.
This service is offered individually with the diving instructor.
Furthermore, we offer advanced courses up to CMAS ***(gold) and/ or PADI Dive Master as well as specialty courses
and Nitrox-dives.
